Captainofindustry has improved out of all recognition since joining Mark Pitman. He put together a career best effort when winning at Taunton last time out and a six pound rise in the weights ought not be enough to stop him going in again. He seems to appreciate stamina sapping events so the fact that he stays beyond this two and a half miles will certainly be in his favour. Denis O’Regan has once again been engaged to ride and the duo can account for some fairly in and out types.
Saint John Henry is proven at this level and he has been plying his trade at a higher level of late. Despite falling in two of his last three races, he showed a bit more at Newbury last time and if staying upwardly mobile, he looks the biggest threat to the selection. Evan Williams does well with his local runners and despite being inexperienced Pobbles Bay will improve for his recent outing at Chepstow. With further improvement likely he too can make the frame.
Captainofindustry will have had his confidence boosted following that recent victory and he ought to revel in these underfoot conditions. He can make the most of the ten pounds that he gets from the David Pipe runner amongst others in order to secure a follow up win.

Royal Palladium seemed to sulk in a much better race than this at Haydock last time as he couldn’t quite manage to get his head in front at any stage of it. Venetia Williams has opted to run him in this lower grade in order to give him a much needed confidence boost. Prior to that last run he ran arguably the best race of his career when Finding Drop Out Joe too strong at Wincanton. He should be very much at home in these testing conditions and this French bred seven year old has to be high on any shortlist.
Thedrinkymeister has already previously won at this track for Kim Bailey and having made a reasonable enough reappearance at Newbury last time, he is likely to be seen to much better effect this afternoon. David Bass renews his association with the six year old and having already won on him in the past, the combination command the utmost respect. African Gold was the subject of a gamble when pulling up behind Spookydooky at Newbury. Nigel Twiston Davies has his team in much better form now and better can be expected today. Cloudy Copper was extremely disappointing in similar company last time whilst the Rebecca Curtis team are woefully out of form.
Royal Palladium should enjoy this smaller field this afternoon and with the yard going through somewhat of a purple patch at present he looks the one to be on. If delivering the form that he is truly capable of, his rivals may struggle to get past him here.

Flemi Two Shoes is somewhat of a course specialist here at Plumpton and he won’t mind any further rain that falls. His last win came over this course and distance back in February when he powered his way through the mud to see Aviador. Romain Clavreul has partnered the nine year old in his last two races and the ten pound claimer should know exactly what he has underneath him this afternoon.
Thehill Ofthe Rock was well supported in the market at Ludlow last time but was ultimately no match for Vodka Island. That was his first run in a little over six months so he was fully entitled to have been a little bit ring rusty. That run should well have cleared away any cobwebs and Jim Best is likely to have him primed for a big effort today. Maccabees has maintained his form well this winter and having previously won on testing ground, he too has to enter calculations. Thomas Cheesman knows all about his mount and they too command respect. Moon Trip has never won beyond two miles whilst Miss Mayfair and Flugzeug may prefer better ground.
The handicapper has dropped Flemi Two Shoes another couple of pounds and now that he returns to his favourite track, it would be of little surprise to see him take full advantage.
