16:15 Newmarket Hamdan Al Maktoum owns three of these and though stable jockey Paul Hanagan has opted for Fidaawy, Ehtiraas and Sirdal are both bred to be decent and any of them winning wouldn’t be a surprise. Godolphin are another powerful outfit with more than one entry and they do like to have winners here, their apparent 1st string looks to be the beautifully bred Great Order whom has an entry in the racing post trophy. Related to multiple winners he certainly looks a more likely type than Pictograph ( Also owned by Godoplhin ) and it will be interesting to see which way he goes in the market. Wave Reviews, C Note and Crazy Horse are others to make appeal but Sir Michael Stoute took last seasons renewal and may well repeat the trick with Fidaawy. Fidaawy (E/W if 9/2+)
17:25 Newmarket Flashy Wings beat the re-opposing American Artist by a neck at Leicester over 1mile when last seen and though the latte has since gone on to win, the former is effectively 3lbs better off at the weights and can uphold the form. Despite both having to carry penalties the pair are very big players and both ought to go close. Rocket Punch hasn’t been seen since flopping at Ascot, he had looked a progressive type before that but connections decision to geld him suggests he has had his share of quirks and as such he can only be watched today. Tyrsal is in great form and has won his last couple of starts nicely, despite this being a step up in grade he is effectively 10lbs well in and really ought to win if that is to be taken as gospel. Noel Garbutt also takes a usual 5lbs off but quite whether he is up to this is debatable, he is however the one to beat if believing in the figures and he deserves the main danger tag. Karaka Jack makes the long journey down south from Jim Goldies yard and arrives here on the back of a decent effort when 2nd at Redcar, he won at this time of year last season and is now 4lbs below that mark today. 17:50 Worcester Kim Bailey had an impressive winner go in 1st time up the other day and appears to have his string in nice order, his Crazy Jack is would be very interesting if fully revved up. Mustmeetalady showed a pleasing attitude when fighting all the way to the line before eventually going down by a head to Robbie Rabbit over 3miles at Uttoxeter. Todays half mile drop in trip looks no problem as he can go from the front, Geraghty is pleasing booking for the O’Neill challenger and he is taken to run them ragged from the front.
