17:40 Wolverhampton For today’s selections we head to Wolverhampton and firstly to the 17:40. A maiden race ran over a distance just shy of six furlongs. The Fahey team have kicked off November in fantastic style and Jan Van Hoof looks to have been found a great opportunity to gain his first win. Beaten favourite on both his starts he looks to have his quirks but the step back up in trip and a better start than when running here on debut will make him hard to beat in what is a weak field. Main danger to the selection is the Michael Bell trained Silver Mirage. The drop back to six furlongs looked to be the right move last time, staying on to finish third it would not be a surprise to see a more enterprising ride by todays jockey and he should not be out of the money here. Nelsons pride ran well at Kempton last time. but she will have to improve to take this. Jan Van Hoof (WIN)

18:10 Wolverhampton The feature race at Dunstall Park is the Class 2 Handicap, again ran over a few yards short of six furlongs. Adam Kirby is arguably the best all weather jockey and his bookings always merit closer inspection. Here he partners the second selection, Go Far, a horse that has shown an excellent level of improvement this year rising 32lbs and winning five times. Of those wins, three came at this venue. Alan Bailey trains and this year he has sent 31 runners to the track 8 of which have returned home winners – a healthy 26%. When teaming up with today’s jockey this year they boast a 29% strike rate. Out Do for David O’Meara looks to have claims here but his liking for getting a troubled passage could once again see him blow his chances and a placing may be the best he will achieve. Hallelujah runs off the same mark as when successful last time at Kempton, the six year old mare is 2-2 on Polytrack and could be a danger to these if taking to the Tapeta Go Far (E/W)

19:10 Wolverhampton Our Final pick runs in the 19:10 a Class 4, one mile four furlong handicap. Ridgway storm, four length winner at Kempton last time runs here off just 2lb higher. If the manner of that victory is anything to go by he should be able to defy this slightly higher rating. Today’s contest is on a new surface and a lot rides on his ability to handle the track. Ridgway Storm certainly likes artificial surfaces boasting a record of two seconds and last times victory when switching to this code. Alan King is another trainer who doesn’t send his charges here without a good chance – winning 5 races from his 19 runners at the track over the past five years (26%). Pintrada is another who, if taking to the surface should be in the first three. A winner at this trip three times he can be ridden both off the pace and handy he should give a good account but it is likely the handicapper has him about right. Very Good Day only had one run in 2013, he has returned late this season over much further and the return to a trip which he has twice been successful gives minor hope of place claims on his third start for new trainer Richard Fahey.
