15:20 Wolverhampton This looks an ideal opportunity for the unexposed Peril to get off the mark, bought out of Lady Cecil’s yard for 40.000 Guineas having shown improved form in three runs he now finds himself in the care of Simon Crisford. Atlantis Crossing will no doubt run his race and has an excellent chance should the likely favourite fluff his lines but seven others, he lacks the scope of Peril and is taken on. Smokethatthunders has a course and distance win to his name and is likely to fare much better here than he did the last day at Chester when flopping but this really does look a good opportunity for Peril and the drop in trip looks likely to suit. Peril (WIN)
17:25 Curragh This looks a hot maiden with most of the big yards represented and future winners are sure to come out this. Aiden O’Brien is double handed with Alice Springs and Kind Of Magic, both take the eye on breeding and both hold major claims. Purple Velvet is another from a massive stable and she is another well related type who ought to go well. Siamsaiocht is another with a beautiful pedigree, a half sister to Dewhurst winner Parish Hall and by an excellent two year old ( Teofilo ) who was also trained by the yard, she is a most likely type on paper and as her yard have such knowledge and understanding of her bloodlines, she is handed vote. Miss Gossip has had the one run and looked sure to improve for the experience, she is worth bearing in mind for the future though she is taken on today. Siamsaiocht (WIN)
21:00 Newmarket Newton’s Law is the clear form choice on recent form and has the assistance of Ryan Moore today, it would be extremely disappointing if he were to find one too good in this but the same could have been said about his run the last day, when beaten into second having been sent off a heavily backed favourite. Still relatively unexposed punters look sure to latch onto Brian Meehan’s charge but his skinny odds are off putting even though he is clearly the one to beat. Fairway To Heaven is another with strong form claims, he also took last seasons renewal of this off a 6lbs lower weight and looks sure to go close again. Both markets leaders really ought to play a part but the intriguing challenger is Imperial Legend, winless since 2013 his slump has seen him fall down the weights and though his recent form is at best patchy and his run the last day was woeful. The intrigue however is the decision of Dandy Nicholls to send him all this way when there are plenty of modest sprints to be had closer to home, even more interesting is that Imperial Legend is the only horse on the entire card trained by Nicholls. Whether the intrigue turns out to be a red herring or not we shall see, but with Frankie booked for the ride, he is worth risking EW. Imperial Legend (E/W if 9/2+)
