18:15 Beverly This race is hardly a race to get in deep with but there are a few interesting angles and as such a speculative play is going to be advised. Five times a winner around here, Eeny Mac finds himself with three duck eggs to his name this season and has hardly impressed with his attitude of late. He loves this venue however and finished 2nd in this back in 2013, on a favourable mark now and at a time he usually begins to find his feet, he is handed the vote to run into the places at rewarding odds. La Havrese is essentially exposed but is drawn well here and usually runs her race, she is respected along with Scrutiny who hails from a yard firing at present. Baron Spikey is an outsider well worth keeping an eye on if the market speaks in his favour, another who looks exposed he at least represents a yard who know how to land a touch. Eeny Mac (E/W if 9/2+)
20:15 Beverly The dreaded scenario of a fifteen runner handicap is likely to turn plenty of punters off betting in this and although we are to pick a selection from it, tentative would be the best approach. Deep Blue Diamond was sent off a totally un-fancied 100/1 shot the last day having shown very little in five starts before that. Quite what you make of that run is open to question but she was 16lbs out of the handicap and is due to go up 15lbs as of tomorrow, speaking on them terms she really ought to go very close today as that hike is likely to see her struggle for some time and as such she is handed a very tentative if interesting selection. Old Fashion is frustrating but has strong claims on the pick of his efforts and has held his own in higher grades, his winless profile is off-putting though and whilst he’s respected he has to be taken on. Different Scenario and Midnight Warrior both know how to win and although not for me today, they both hold very strong chances. Ghostly Arc has won around here and has every chance of going in again, he’s too short for my liking for win purposes but he is likely the one they have to beat and is feared the most. Deep Blue Diamond (E/W if 9/2+)
20:30 Haydock This looks a match race between Invoke and the lightly raced Mambo Fever, anything other than a win for either of them would have to go down as a major shock and the pair look the ones to concentrate on. Mambo Fever has only had the three runs and her return to action when third at Redcar was probably a better run than her victory over this trip at Wolverhampton over 7f. Many will argue the trip beat her east the last day and with that back in mind, she really ought to go very close tonight. Invoke carries a penalty having won at Carlisle, she showed a very nice attitude that day and although she gives weight away all around, she looks the to beat. Heartsong has bits and bobs to recommend on but the trip is the issue and so with a soft lead looking assured, Invoke is taken to kick off a slow pace and not be caught. Invoke (WIN)
