15:40 Lingfield This looks very competitive and a few of these bumped into one another behind the highly progressive Realize, over course and distance last month with Shyron doing the best. A regular for George Margarson in these events he can sometimes blow but with a pace to run at he is a serious weapon on his day. A fast finishing 2nd behind the aforementioned Realize the last day was a most satisfactory effort and a repeat may well suffice here. On the book he has the beating of Grey Mirage and with a strong pace looking assured here, he is handed the vote to regain the winning thread. Dutiful Son has Luke Morris up and is worth of a good deal of respect, his best chance probably hinges on leading but a chance he has all the same. Clement has been attracting support for this despite being rather found out the last day when facing better opponents than the ones he had beaten in three egg and spoon races. Quite why he is attracting such strong support is hard to fathom but he is clearly in great heart and maybe connections feel a strong pace suits him best. Mutawathea is a nice type consistent type who deserves to pick another decent pot up, another who likes to lead he will have his chance but the handicapper hasn’t given him much respite. Boomerang Bob is another solid type with claims, his last run in St Moritz is worthless in the context of this but he is consistent and tough. Shyron (WIN)
16:00 Newbury Nitrogen is a half brother to Cheltenham Gold Cup great Best Mate and has been sent off favourite on all three of his rules races. Comfortably held when third here the last day he promises to imrove with age and looks to have been allotted a fair mark on his debut in the handicap ranks. Connections decision to even run him in an open looking sort of race has to be seen as a positive and so despite having a bit to prove, he is handed a speculative vote given his pedigree and promise shown so far. Mystifiable will likely go off favourite and he was visually pretty impressive when trotting up at Taunton last time. Todays 8lbs penalty will likely make things a touch more difficult but he is well worth a crack at this trip and is the one to beat. Special Agent is another with leading claims and his yard are going well, along with Muckle Roe and Ballyadeen he deserves respect in a wide open looking contest. Nitrogen (WIN)
16:20 Doncaster Favourite Girl took this last season off a 5lbs lower mark and her yard’s impressive winning form continues to impress, even though it is mainly on the level. Quite whether she is good enough to repeat the trick this time around is debatable but she deserves respect and afforded a good deal of it. Five Year Olds had held a tremendous recent record in this until last season and Pam Sly’s Taweyla sticks out like a sore thumb for them of that age bracket here. Two from three over hurdles she defied a market drift and quashed any doubts about her fitness when showing a good attitude in seeing off Disputed over 2 miles at Kempton the last day. The handicapper poses a fairly decent question of her with the 8lbs penalty but she is entitled to come on for that latest effort and this track looks sure to suit her style of running. Mystery Code is another lightly raced and unexposed type, she has rather failed to live up to the promise she showed on debut however and was bitterly disappointing when thrashed at Warwick the last time. Despite the obvious concerns she has been given a nothing sort of mark from the handicapper ( Baffling really ) and is a player despite being likely to trade too short. Unbuckled is more experienced than most but has a chance of running into the places and has to be of interest given she has won around here before. Mystic Sky has some fancy looking form figures behind some decent types and may well tempt the value hunters, the rest are very hard to fancy and though the handicapper has seemingly been overly harsh on Taweyla ( When considering the rest ) she is easily the most likable and is handed the vote to improve further. Taweyla (WIN)
