18:15 Windsor
5 go in this small field for a class 5 fillies novice stakes race at Windsor in what appears on paper to be a 3-horse race between the front three in the betting.
The 2 outsiders, first Salonniere its very hard to see her getting involved today finishing last in both a seller and maiden to date very hard to see her getting involved and newcomer Clarakhani obviously unraced would maybe find this hard today lacking experience but maybe possibly better on the all-weather given her pedigree and breeding background.
The current favourite Flaunt out of Frankel for the Gosden's looks to be wanting this extra furlong in trip having kept on in both races albeit finishing third and fourth in the field. She has been racing at 1 mile 2-furlong whereas today is a 1 mile 3- furlong. she will have been better for the experience as each race goes by so you can see why she is favourite I'm just not sure they will go at a strong pace being a small field so this may not suit her and is worth taking her on.
Breccia the more experience runner in the race in terms of number of races she has had. But it's hard to get too excited or see too much of her form which suggests a win should be round the corner soon. Although trainer William Haggas is in very good form operating at a 31% strike rate in the last fortnight along with Breccia not being seen since end of June the break may do her good. So not one to easily dismiss
The one that interests me and is my selection is Pretty Sweet. Pretty Sweet came 2nd on her debut under trainer Jamie Osbourne and has since changed hands to George Boughey. what interests me with Pretty Sweet second at Bath was although the winner out of that race hasn't shown much line of form since. The third on that day and was a short price favourite Star Caliber. has been running in class 3 handicaps and has not been out of the places showing a line of consistency. I'm sure wins will come with Star Caliber at the right races. But this gives me hope that Pretty Sweet although may not be a future superstar will be better than these types of races going forward.
Jockey Mark Crehan takes a handy 3 pounds of her as well which may slightly help and trainer George Boughey is in very decent form with 7 winners in his last 20 runners should be noted.
