Le Breuil makes a relatively quick turnaround following a third over a slightly shorter trip at Warwick three weeks ago, however is now rated 5lbs lower than when winning the 'four-miler' at Cheltenham in 2019, is proven over the trip and will be at home in the conditions so looks the one to beat.
That said, Classic Escape has offered plenty of signs of encouragement in recent months, posting two seconds and a win from his last three runs, the latest of which came when second to Dino Boy over four miles at Kelso in December. He wasn't for catching the winner but re-opposes with an 8lbs swing in the weights and also gets over a stone in weight from the favourite Le Breuil so I think looks to have a great each way chance today.
Others to mention include The Ferry Master who has won his last two and although has never raced beyond three miles could be a danger if seeing out the trip, while Bob Mahler won this race last season but looks unlikely to follow up here given he has failed to finish in all three runs so far this season.
