MOORE'S SANDOWN SHOT SHOULDN'T BE FAR AWAY

20:00 Sandown

The Coral Whitsun Cup Handicap is contested by 10 runners over 1 mile where the going is currently Soft (Heavy in places). At the time of writing, the joint favourites are Ransom and History Writer.

Ransom is making his turf debut after winning twice in his last 3 runs on the all-weather. The in-form Sir Michael Stoute jocks up Ryan Moore. Ransom is rated 88 but this ground looks very testing and it might not be the most favourable conditions at the best of times, let alone a turf debut.

History Writer had a fantastic 2019 and has won on heavy ground in listed company. 2020 wasn't as progressive for him and he is currently rated 93. His current form is poor reading 09-008. Down in class, on favourable ground, he may be able to show us some of his old form from two seasons ago.

Semser has Tom Queally on board for trainer Gary Moore. Semser has placed in all 3 starts so far in his UK racing career and recently won over in France at 9 furlongs. He's an unexposed type, rated 85, who seems to be improving with every run. Having won over 9 furlongs can only be beneficial on testing ground where stamina will play a part.

I think Semser will continue to improve and currently at 8/1 (at the time of writing), I believe he's got a great each-way chance.
