MONDAY RACING TIPS

19:20 Stratford

Stratford is notorious for front-runners making all and Getaman under a change of tactics last time out at Perth did just that. D J Jeffreys charge has got his act together this year and has been progressing run to run, he was only raised 5lb for the win and he could still have more to give. Away from him we have another last time out winner in White Turf, he competes under a penalty today for the victory last Monday. Benefiting from his market rival departing early he got the job done comfortably enough but that was his first win in 26 starts and it remains to be seen if he can follow that up.

GETAMAN (WIN)

19:40 Southwell

A competitive enough mile handicap will see three last time out winners go head-to-head along with several other who were placed on their last runs. Biplane beat two inform rivals the last day and only receiving a 3lb rise could well be gift. However, he has been drawn in the car park today so he may be one for next time, Ring of Gold also won last time out but that was December so perhaps he will need the run.

An eyecatcher for me is Last Mission with Dougie Costello aboard, he usually rides for these owners and they have three runners today but this is the only one Costello is riding. A winner at the start of the year he is now 2lb below that winning mark and after that win they stepped the gelding up in trip but it certainly didn’t suit, back to mile today should see him go close.
