A 6-runner novice hurdle but can be broken down into just three with a conceivable chance of victory. Going through them in racecard order, Cartonne has shown a fair level of form but has also shown a himself to be an exceptionally keen going sort and will struggle to get away with that today on the forecast heavy ground. Netywell has ran behind some promising types in the north in the last few months but has no form on heavy so that would be a concern. So, that leaves the inform Rebecca Menzies trained Ritson. Although a beaten favourite last time out at Carlisle he has shown an aptitude for the ground and I will take him to get off the mark today.
The other three are working towards handicap marks and it will be interesting to see them in the future when they are supported in the market.

Very rarely will you see a 104 rated runner pitching up at Wolverhampton on a Monday evening, but we have that rarity tonight with King Of The South. Runner up in the Winter Derby Trial last time out where he was outpaced but stayed on strongly and stepping back up two furlongs tonight looks set to suit this rapidly improving 5-y-o and he should take some stopping. Jeremy Scott does not have many flat horses but he has done very well with Celtic Art who is 2 from 3 this year, but he perhaps has reached his ceiling now but still the most likely to follow home King Of The South.
