MONDAY FLAT RACING TIPS

14:10 Bath

Meadram has improved for the step up in trip, winning two in a row on the all-weather at Wolves with the latter of the two a commanding three length victory, however the switch to turf and a 5lbs rise is enough for me to look elsewhere.

My Boy Charles has posted a win and a placed effort from two prior course and distance runs, however was four lengths behind Beryl Burton when third at Ffos Las in September and the winner was subsequently beaten at Yarmouth last week. From their revised marks, of the two it would be the former who would be preferred, yet a shout can also be given to Lisdarragh who has been the model of consistency over the summer, winning at Windsor in June before five successive placed efforts over 11.5 furlongs at Windsor and here at Bath. He dropped down to todays’ trip and won well at Chelmsford when last seen so looks to have a solid each way chance at early odds of around 8/1.

LISDARRAGH (E/W)

17:15 Pontefract

A competitive race to finish the flat season at Pontefract, with 2020 winner John Kirkup returning to defend his crown and Rayong, Bossipop and Van Gerwen all considered on the back of previous runs at the course. Preference however is for Ey Up Its Maggie who has been performing with credit in higher grades so looks to have an excellent chance now dropping down in class and with conditions in her favour.
