Alpha Cru is two from two over course and distance and proved capable of handling testing conditions with a strong finish to win on soft/heavy ground at Hamilton last month, notching her third win in four starts since joining David O’Meara. With both track and trip in her favour she looks to have a great chance of another victory here, although Empirestateofmind has posted results of 2112 since returning to turf and looks the most likely to challenge providing he handles the softer ground.
The shortlist is completed by Under Fox who won well at Hamilton in soft ground last month, however has raced twice at Pontefract without success when racing over a shorter trip.
