LATCH ON TO LAD IN AYR CHASE

Nicky Richards tends to do well with his chasers at Ayr (10 wins from 30 in the last 3 years) and runs Reivers Lad who is looking to get his career back on track following a two year absence. A winner at Newcastle in December 2018 on chase debut, he returned at Haydock in January and looked to have retained all his ability, travelling well and jumping soundly before taking an extra step at the seventh fence and taking a tumble. He had been just about foot-perfect until that point so I am happy to give him another chance as I think this looks a winnable race.

Ardera Cross has a decent strike rate over fences and has won a couple of times here at Ayr, although his last victory came over 21 furlongs and he has disappointed over shorter trips in recent months, so the bigger danger looks to be Victory Echo who beat a couple of subsequent winners when winning at Newcastle last time out, however has gone up 7lbs for his efforts so will find this tougher.
