A six furlong sprint for four year olds and over.
A tight knit little handicap with seven exposed handicappers. One can’t help feeling if this race was run five times, you may get a different winner each time.
Aplomb has changed yards from William Haggas to Jane Chapple Hyam. This may help this talented but unreliable gelding. A change of scenery could spark this horse into a positive frame of mind, especially when fresh, but there’s no doubt he’s chancey.
May Sonic is in good form albeit on the all weather. He has some form on turf and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t act on it, but the handicapper has had his say, and May Sonic needs a personal best.
Barbill is a classy sprinter on a going day, maybe he’s better off in bigger fields.
This could be the day for Major Jumbo. His form at the start of last season is head and shoulders above anything the other runners have achieved. He runs off a seven pound lower mark than when beaten just over a length in a Group 3, and with his jockey claiming another seven pounds, this could swing it in his favour.
Although now a seven year old, this event looks like Major Jumbos best opportunity of winning for a while.
