ICE COLD AGE TO SHOCK AT AYR

15:05 Ayr

Sams Call ran well for third at Musselbugh when last seen and the booking of Danny Tudhope for todays' race looks significant given he boasts a 33% winning strike rate when teaming up with trainer Mick Easterby in the last twelve months. The trainer form is a concern but if running to a similar level to last time out he shouldn't be too far away.

Gleniffer was a convincing winner over course and distance last month and although has gone up 6lbs for that he won with plenty in hand so a follow up wouldn't be too much of a surprise, although it's worth noting that was his first career win and also a marked improvement on prior runs.

Rebel Redemption won well last time out, beating a subsequent winner in the process, and is another who warrants consideration off a 4lbs higher mark, however at the prices I am happy to chance an each way on Ice Age in the hope a change of stable can re-ignite some of his old form. He hasn't won in three years however six of his seven turf wins have come over todays' trip and his last two victories came in Class 2 races off marks of 99 and 103 so he is undoubtedly well-treated and is too big a price to ignore.
