HIGH TO LAND TWO YEAR OLD HANDICAP

16:10 Goodwood

Robasta is due to go up in the weights. He won a nice, competitive race last time out, though narrowly. He should enjoy the step up in trip but he might get out-speeded. Moreover, the handicapper has been quite harsh and he doesn’t seem to enjoy bigger fields. It may take a Murphy masterclass to get him first past the post.

Adjuvant is the favourite and is unbeaten in his first two races. He’s won on both soft ground and over 7 furlongs. He’s open to potential and his form has been franked. However, he’s been penalised for that and has to give quite a bit of weight away. He seems a beatable favourite.

Mark Johnston has an excellent record in this race, taking 3 of the last 7 renewals and one of the horses he saddles, Highland Premier, stands a good chance at taking that to 4 in the last 8! He’s seasoned on this ground and he looked to relish the step up to 7 furlongs, last time out, when he ran away from the field by 3 lengths. He has around 4 to 5 lbs in hand from some of his main competitors and he’s due to go up an extra pound in the future. Everything seems to be in his favour, even the slight advantage the draw gives, and he should go well!
