GOLD CUP GLORY FOR PALMER'S LEGEND

15:00 Newbury

A competitive looking handicap race Bay Bridge goes into this race as the favourite and holds a group 2 entry at Royal Ascot. Bay Bridge having won comfortably at Newcastle on the all-weather you can see why on his handicap debut he should have a big shout in this race. However, he won't have run on ground this quick (good to soft currently) but it does look like a wet day at Newbury and only other time he ran on turf was at Yarmouth last season finishing 3rd.

Tamborrada is looking for a 4 timer having won last time out has gone up 8lbs for a neck win at Doncaster last time seems a bit excessive and could be caught out today. Another you would be unsure about if the ground went a bit soft.

OZ LEGEND would be my choice of selection for this race as an each way shout kept on well to finish 3rd at Windsor despite a sluggish start out of the gate. Jockey and trainer on a good strike rate at the moment which is a plus. Just feel having kept on well last time out he would be much better for his run this time out and today could be a good day to catch him. Will certainly need to improve from what he has shown but I think is on a nice mark and nicely weighted to do well.

One outsider Andrew Balding Dejame Paso I feel could improve for the step up in trip and could cause a shock and a grab a place if i was to try and look for something at a bigger price.
