David O'Meara and Danny Tudhope have teamed up to win this race three times since 2014, the latest being in 2018 with Lord Glitters (who also finished a close up third in last years renewal), and although he will no doubt give it another good go he faces an uphill task at the weights this time around.
My Oberon is a prior course winner who has been competing with credit in Group 1 races in recent months so will appreciate the drop down in class, while Brunch goes in the opposite direction following Listed success at Pontefract when last seen and has an excellent record on the Knavesmire.
El Drama was no match for the ultra impressive Baaeed when last seen, although did finish in front of two highly regarded rivals who have since placed in Group races and is interesting getting weight from the whole field, however for the winner our ready preference is for Real World who is two from two on turf, streaking almost five lengths clear to win what looked to be an extremely competitive Royal Hunt Cup with apparent ease and following up with another solid victory at Listed level last time out. His trainer Saeed Bin Suroor has won this race five times in all and with Real World has a solid favourite in his bid to add a sixth success.
