GET ON THE MAN AT NEWCASTLE

13:25 Newcastle

This mammoth nine race card sees another jumpers bumper meeting take centre stage on the all-weather at Newcastle this Tuesday.

The third race of the day sees a recent flat race victor step foot in their first ever NHF contest and should take all the beating. Manjaam hails from the yard of trainer David Loughnane who has his horses going well of late. The eight year old gelding claimed a solid course and distance success last time out and in a field as weak as this he’d be hard to surpass.

The Brian Hughes ridden Ottonian failed to justify market support in his last run when finishing third despite going off as favourite. Likely to make the frame but he’ll have to show a more encouraging effort in order to see this seven year old, who’s yet to win since joining Donald McCains yard, finish in front.

At a bigger price, Sauchiehall Street showed a much better performance when third at Chelmsford last time and may do better than many suspect, especially if he continues to build upon his latest performance.
