FUNDAMENTAL TO BE CROWNED IN KING

14:40 Newmarket

A small field go to post for this listed event over seven furlongs at HQ.

Bellosa was an emphatic winner of a maiden here a month ago, putting clear daylight between her and her rivals. She goes into the could be anything category, but she faces 3 rivals here who have already reached three figures ratings.

Devilwala ran well in the Craven, but then struggled in the Guineas. The cheek pieces go on today and should he choose to adopt the prominent run style he showed in the Craven he could be dangerous in this small field.

Cloudbridge makes his seasonal debut. Two good runs sandwiched a poor run at York. He has been gelded over the winter. He is taken as the main danger to my selection.

Fundamental looks the type to keep improving throughout the season, and he is the selection. A good looking individual with a beautiful pedigree. He progressed nicely as a two year old, bolting up at Chelmsford and again winning at the same course on his three year old seasonal debut.

He found things happening a little quickly in the Greenham, but still ran respectably. This smaller field should help him get into a nice rhythm, and any further rain will be in his favour.
