FRIDAY RACING TIPS

14:45 Newton Abbot

4 runners go in this Novice Chase. Byzantine Empire will probably come into this as favourite after being incredibly short last time out in a 3-runner race here at Newton Abbot was well beaten on the day. What wont help is he has to give 10 pounds away to all his rivals today.

Mascat a course and distance winner around here make his chase debut today. has been mainly racing on the flat for most of his race career and ran on the flat a few times this season. Did win here but that was in amateur jockey handicap and was then a 2nd well behind a winner at his next race at Newton Abbot.

Geni De La Cour has been running in Ireland and France mostly throughout his career. Did win at Clonmel but that was on Heavy and with the ground currently good to soft and with no rain expected on the horizon can see the ground conditions being an issue.

Chance is taken with Noahthirtytwored for Adam West yard. Horse has been in reasonably good hurdle form over the summer running up a sequence of 3 wins in a row. Ignore his run on the flat i can imagine the trip was on the short side but ran with credit to finish 4th at a big price. won't mind the ground conditions and providing his jumping form is up to scratch. Will give his other rivals something to think about.

NOAHTHIRTYTWORED (WIN)

15:28 Newbury

Classic won last time out like a very short price horse (4/9 SP) should do by winning well. However, 2nd in that race got beaten next time out at a short price so I wouldn't be to convinced how strong that form is.

Eligius looks one for later on down the line. Having finished 6th last time out at Ascot will surely have to much to on his hand to get competitive today

Stormbuster came 2nd in a listed race last time out but was no match for the winner. He is yet to get his head in front though and although is improving all the time a win will surely happen before the season is over.

My selection has to be Highbank it won't get you rich and can imagine it will be a short price which I don't like backing. But you had to be impressed with the manner of how he won at Newmarket. given that was on debut was entitled to maybe be a little green. Youd like to think there is improvement in him after his first run. The step up in trip on paper looks like it will play into his hands and with Ryan Moore in the saddle it all points to another victory
