17:45 Wolverhampton Most of these have had at least a couple of runs and may be better once sent handicapping though Chapeau Bleu is very interesting on debut, in what looks a fairly modest affair. A £12000 purchase for connections, Seamus Duracks challenger on paper will probably prefer a stiffer test in time but the booking of Spencer is worth noting and a big run looks on the cards. Narborough is thoroughly exposed and looks far from straightforward, there is a race in the Channon challenger but the percentage call is to oppose. Regal Bond is another whom will likely improve when handicapping, the yard know how to win around here though and he wouldn’t have to improve a bundle to win. Takafol showed plenty of promise in decent looking maidens last term for Charlie Hills, subsequently sold to David O’Meara the three year old has since been gelded and comes here looking like the one to beat. The rest have a fair bit to prove and so, with nothing to suggest he wont handle the surface, and with the least questions to answer, the likely favourite Takafol is handed the vote. Takafol (WIN)
18:15 Wolverhampton Veteran trainer Jim Bradley rather confused things here by saddling three of the nine runners and his string look a decent starting point. Divine Call looks exposed and had been struggling before finishing second over seven furlongs here last time, Eoin Walsh will have to sit and suffer but a strong late run looks on the cards and his chance wants respecting. New Decade was heavily backed from big odds at Kempton last time but pulled far too hard and looked backwards, the blinkers may have been the excuse that day but as that aid is kept, he couldn’t be given with any sort of confidence and is worth taking on. Hamis Al Bin has won over course and distance and is one pound lower than when last doing so, he looks likely to strike at some point and his chance is clear under Fanning. The negative with him is his tendency to pull, a comment that also applies Consistant who may well need this anyway. Dream Ally almost caused a huge shock when finishing second over six furlongs at 66/1 here last time, the drop in trip wont hinder him and with no likely challenger to the lead, he can make every yard of the running for Spencer and is selected. 21:05 Dundalk The final selection of the evening see’s us take our only visit across the water and comes in the shape of a likely sort on paper and newcomer in Master Of Mayhem. A son of Guineas hero Mafki and related to several pattern race winners, Ger Lyons gelding will have to be pretty useful to win this first time up, he is out of a Listed winner however and a chance is worth taking with so many positives to take from his pedigree. The likely favourite appears to be the three time raced and three time third placed Pour Deaux, who cost 260,000 guineas as a yearling. By far the most likely on the formbook, the negative appears to be her trainers rather modest strike rate here, she does however look likely to make it as a three year old and whilst we have taken her on her chance must be massively respected. Don Camillo looked woefully one paced when fourth over one mile here on debut, the extra trip will likely suit but significant improvement is required. Master Of Mayhem (WIN)
