Magical Lagoon is well bred, being a half sister to Group One scorer Novellist. She massively improved to reverse the form with Albula, when landing a Group Three at The Curragh. She’s raced over a mile and on good ground, so that’s favourable. However, this is quite a significant step up in class and the form from her Group Three success hasn’t lived up to expectations.
Wild Beauty has won on all sorts of ground, from good to heavy, and made the jump to Grade One when landing the Natalma Stakes in Canada. She’s experienced and connections are in rather good form. However, on her last two starts in Britain, she was beaten a length by fellow competitor Majestic Glory and was easily dispatched by Inspiral the time before. She commands respect but if the form holds up, she’ll have to post a career best today.
Inspiral has done nothing wrong in her three starts. She defeated Wild Beauty, on level terms, in July and quickened up nicely to put quite a bit of distance between herself and her rivals in the May Hill Stakes over a mile. She’s got the form, distance and class to win this and connections have a nice record in the race. She more than warrants favouritism.
