FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH AT CHELMSFORD

18:22 Chelmsford

Home City is the favourite for this race and has pretty much everything going for him. His form from his demotion in his last contest looks head and shoulders above the rest in this race. However, he’s yet to get his head in front and there are question marks over the transition to this All-Weather surface. Taken together, along with the short price, I think it’s worth taking him on.

Harb made his debut at Glorious Goodwood and drops three classes for this race. He’s well bred and will now have the experience of his first race to build upon. Moreover, connections are in relatively good form. He’s open to improvement but despite being related to some winners, over six furlongs, he could find this a little too short.

Definitive Force is one of the newcomers in this race, so he could be anything. He has a very solid sprint pedigree and is related to a whole host of victors over this distance. Additionally, he has some support in the betting, behind his more experienced rivals. He holds an entry in the Group 1, Middle Park Stakes, which suggests that connections rate him rather highly. All in all, he could prove a bit of value against those aforementioned at the top of the market.
