FOOLISH TO FORGET ABOUT FREE

A field of 10 go in the Qatar Sussex Stakes (at the time of writing) 2000 Guineas winner Poetic Flare is the market favourite after winning two group 1 this season. Hard to ignore his form. However, the ground is going to be still on the soft side and both of those Group 1 wins were on good to firm ground. That along with price of 11/10 I think he is worth taking on today.

Snow Lantern looks a horse on the up after her winning at Newmarket at the July cup festival she is ultra-consistent and hasn't finished outside the top 3 yet in her 5 runs.

A P O'Brien has 2 in this race Lope Y Fernandez you would think would want the ground to dry out and Order Of Australia who won last time out is again another would want dry weather. Dangerous to rule out an A P O'Brien horse out but he hasn't yet really dominated a British festival yet with his runners so far this season.

The horse I really fancy to turnover Poetic Flare is ALCOHOL FREE she will love these conditions I think at Goodwood and has shown she can handle soft conditions by winning at Royal Ascot really impressively. Potentially looks like there could be a few showers before the off as well. I just think perhaps conditions were too quick for her on good to firm ground the last two times she has run on that ground she has finished 3rd & 5th. Ill be amazed if she is not in the top 3 at least. whereas I think there are some question marks about this ground with some of her other rivals.

I believe Goodwood track will be to her liking and with Andrew Balding on a 20% strike rate and Oisin Murphy riding at a 28% strike rate it's a combination both in really good form.
