FINDING TREASURE AT DONCASTER COULD BE PROFITABLE

15:30 Doncaster

A Competitive veteran’s handicap takes place at Doncaster on Wednesday afternoon. Ami Desbois is well fancied, he has not won for over two years but did come close at Kempton last time when a last flight mistake may have cost him the race however, he has been put up 4lb for that run which must hugely frustrate the trainer. That race at Kempton also featured Guitar Pete who was in touch when falling four out, this was his first attempt at 3 miles but fell too early to prove he stays so he is passed over today. The one I like here is in form trainer Kim Bailey’s Rockys Treasure. Last time out he ran in the listed Sky Bet chase here at Doncaster, he found the competition a bit hot and the ground way too soft and was pulled up. However, his previous run also here at Doncaster gave him his third course win and is probably the best form on offer in this race. The key to him winning today is the good/soft ground which was the going when he won here. Down in class and on better ground Rocky can enhance his already impressive course record today. Trainer Kim Bailey has a 46% strike rate over the last fortnight and has a 23% strike rate at the course over the last five years.
