FATHER AND DAUGHTER TO FLOURISH IN YORK OPENER

14:00 York

Arctic Fox is a dual course winner who notched a hat-trick on turf in the summer of 2019, culminating in victory in the 2019 renewal of this race, however despite a falling mark, a change of stables and even a run over hurdles she has struggled to re-capture that form since.

Flymetothestars hasn't been seen since contesting a Group 3 race in France in 2017 but had earlier finished a head second in the Ebor Handicap so if retaining any of his old ability would have to be considered, although could be forgiven should he get tired at the business end of the race given his absence.

Nicholas T tends to save his winning for Ayr and has never won over further than ten furlongs when racing on turf, while Carlos Felix posted his only career victory over today's trip but has looked held off his current mark the last twice. Civil Law was a winner on the all-weather last time out however his best results on turf (two second placed finishes) have both come in testing conditions when trained in France, so with question marks over all of the above I am siding with Sameem who despite being the early outsider of the field looks over-priced given he is proven on fast ground, his last win came in a Listed contest when rated 95 and his trainer has won this race three times since 2011.
