DALGLEISH LOOKING FOR AYR DELIGHT

16:45 Ayr

What a race we have in store. The Virgin Bet Kilkerran Cup Handicap. A handicap over 10 furlongs where 13 currently head to post. At the time of writing, the ground is Good to Firm (Good in places).

The current favourite, Cockalorum, is a phenomenal, gutsy horse who should always be respected. Looking back at this season, how this horse was rated 86 is beyond me. He was so well in at Musselbrough in May and even backed it up with a win 6 days later at Redcar off 91. Now at 99, he has still run with credit in every race and finished 3rd the last twice off this mark. I'm not sure if he's 100% found at the weight yet and conditions should suit. A worthy market favourite, currently at 4/1.

Chichester has been a game runner for Keith Dalgleish this season. 2 wins and creditable runs in the rest. I believe he will be okay at the trip, however I believe that he is an 8 furlong horse. However, the quick conditions will suit and the visor is on. A good each way shout.

Nicholas T is such a tough handicapper. He's had a phenomenal season over multiple trips and different goings and it has made this horse so likeable to the public. I'm not sure this is his optimum trip though, I think he'd want at least another 2 furlongs here, but he's always one to note.

It's so hard to split the horses mentioned. I almost want to tip up Cockalorum (WIN) and Chichester & Nicholas T to place, especially with 5 places available but I'm going to side with the horse named after my hometown. Chichester, currently 9/1 with 5 places available.

CHICHESTER (E/W)
