An intriguing small field sprint opens proceedings at this evenings meeting.
Abate is a consistent type. It’s easy to overlook his latest defeat in a big field at York where he was harried on the lead. He’s likely to be able to dictate this smaller field, but the handicapper seems to have his measure currently.
Latin Five on the flip side is well handicapped on his Irish form. His last three runs have been solid efforts and there’s no doubt he’s in the right hands to get him back on the winning trail.
Canford Bay is the selection and could offer some value. He can usually be relied upon to run his race and hasn’t got a bad strike rate for a horse of his age/runs. Today he runs of an 8lb lower mark than when winning this time last year.
