14:00 Newmarket
A small but select field go in the class 2 handicap at Newmarket.
Midrarr is battling with Goolwa for favouritism at the time of writing. Midrarr is looking for a hatrick of wins and she will need a career best to be winning this. Midrarr has won at this distance however with the ground at Newmarket currently good to firm she hasn't won on this ground before so that would be a concern and racking up a Hatrick of wins on the flat is never an easy thing to do.
Eileendover you could say has been pretty disappointing on the flat so far this season and goes into handicap company for the first time. Going back up in trip will certainly benefit her I would imagine judging on her national hunt form. However, a question mark has to be over the ground as again all her best form seems to be on soft and heavy. I don't think you could be overly confident on her.
Qunenelle D'Or looks interesting going up in trip with Georgia Dobie taking 5 pounds off using her allowance. Would certainly have a each way shout at a bigger price
For me the horse to back would be Goolwa for Andrew Balding. Judging on previous runs it looks like this step up in trip will play into her hands having kept on at Ascot on her last run on Turf.
Again question marks would be about the ground but a lot of the horses in this race haven’t showed an awful lot on good to firm ground so I’m not to concerned. She does seem to keep on at the end of the races which i think will be needed at this Newmarket track. Does have to find a career best but so do a lot of these Fillies today
Andrew Balding still seems in good form operating at a 27 percent strike rate and it’s his only runner at Newmarket today. So perhaps it’s still a good time to keep on the side of Balding horses
