15:30 Lingfield
With some of Saturday’s postponements we’re set to take in some all-weather action on ITV this afternoon and the final race to be shown on the artificial surface sees us tackle a tough looking, Class 3, one mile contest.
John Ryan’s five year old Catch My Breath aims to make it a trio of consecutive victories after claiming success here at Lingfield in his last two starts. The grey five year old has been impressive on both occasions but now upped two grades to this company and with more weight on his back today is going to be a much tougher ask.
Fellow course and distance winner Atheeb cannot be ignored and should come on leaps and bounds for their seasonal return and stable debut however finishing sixth in a less competitive race still leaves me with doubts and the minor money is the likelier outcome.
Im therefore left siding with yet another course victor this time in the form of the Mick Appleby trained Mohareb. The gelding has been competing in better races than this of late and finished a very encouraging third over course and distance last time. He seemed to appreciate the trip and with a drop in grade and now residing off just a 1lb higher mark than his most recent win I expect him to go even closer today. At a current price of around 6/1 I feel that’s way too big and if you can still get a similar price looks a solid each way bet for small place profit.
