15:35 Newmarket - Princess Of Wales's Tattersalls Stakes (Group 2)

The Princess Of Wales Tattersalls Stakes is a Group 2 that sees 5 horses run over 1 miles 4 furlongs. The going at Newmarket is currently Good to Firm.

Al Aasy leads the market for the Haggas and Crowley combination, where his odds are currently 4/6. He landed a pair of Group 3's earlier this season, both at Newbury, before coming 2nd last time out in the Group 1 Coronation Cup where Pyledriver just got ontop of him and won by a neck. Conditions were soft that day and he'll enjoy the firmness here. Back down into a Group 2, it's easy to see why he's the market leader.

Highest Ground has been a difficult horse to get right this season. His form reads 619, with the win coming on similar conditions and over the same trip, however the standard was a lot lower than this race. Ryan Moore jockeys Highest Ground for Sir Michael Stoute, I think there are better each way angles here.

Sir Ron Priestley is a very game and likeable horse. He's normally very reliable and runs his race. He's top weight here, giving Al Aasy 3lbs which is no mean feat. He has previously won at Newmarket, over the mile and a half and on this ground, I think he could be the each way play at 6/1.

I'm not one for tipping up an odds on favourite, especially at 4/6, but it's just very very hard to see past Al Aasy here. If I was going for a bigger bet, it would be an Al Aasy - Sir Ron Priestley forecast

AL AASY (WIN)
