Betway Aintree Hurdle

2m4f

Epatante ran much better than the official distance she was beaten in the Champion Hurdle suggests and she may well have given Honeysuckle a real fright but for getting the last completely wrong. Clearly high class in her own right and a multiple winner at the highest level, she is hard to go against here though this extra yardage doesn't look much of a positive and on that thought, she will be taken on.

Zanahiyr finished just in-behind Epatante in the aforementioned Festival race, he has plenty of form at the top level but usually bumps into one and has become slightly frustrating. Hailing from the Gordon Elliott yard, he could prove suited by this step up in trip and is taken to reverse the Festival form though there is a slight doubt as to how well the yards are running right now.

Brewin'upastorm was bitterly disappointing when fifth in this race last season and has a fair amount to find with the market principles, certainly on pure form. His second at Fontwell last time was fair and his win at Lingfield the time before was fairly impressive, despite that, even his fall at the last (When looking likely to win at Cheltenham) needs improving upon significantly. Despite the negatives, Olly Murphy's nine year old has won here before and he does look the best of those who are proven at the trip.

McFabulous often flatters to deceive, one of two runners for Paul Nicholls, there is every chance he will once more have his followers believing at some point during the run but he is starting to look a little untrustworthy and he probably isn't good enough either way. Monmiral looked to have the world at his feet when proving too good for Adagio here last year, however, things haven't gone well for him in open company this season and the trip raises another question of him.

Both Guard Your Dreams and Glory And Fortune have a mountain to climb on these terms and so with the market leaders needing to prove they will get this far, a speculative vote is handed to Brewin'upastorm, who gets the nod almost via default.
