The first race on ITV today is the Betway Top Novice Hurdle Grade 1 and gives us a chance to see Jonbon. Last seen at Cheltenham giving vain pursuit to Constitution Hill who looks to have the world at his hooves. Some doubt has been cast over Jonbon since Cheltenham, but I feel it is wrong to do so. Time will show that Constitution Hill is just so far clear of the whole hurdles division and if Jonbon reproduces the form of Cheltenham he should resume winning ways today.

Of the rest El Fabiolo will appear to be the best, kept fresh by side stepping Cheltenham he should provide Jonbon with something to think about. Last seen being eased down in victory at Tramore he looked to possess a reasonable amount of ability, the concern for me as he has never ran on any better ground than very-soft when in France. First Street a stablemate of Jonbon will be in contention for a place after chasing home handicap blot State Man at the festival.
